Compliance For Law Firms
At the Regulation and Compliance Office, we have the knowledge, expertise and processes to ensure any Firm can obtain and maintain the CQS accreditation.
The Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) is a recognised quality standard for SRA-regulated firms in residential conveyancing and is essential for all Firms who undertake residential property work, particularly when seeking to represent lenders. CQS advises that obtaining the standard can help to minimise a Firm’s risk of claims and protect its brand. By joining the scheme, you’ll show that you:
- Have the expertise to deliver quality residential conveyancing advice.
- Use standardised processes to manage and reduce risks.
- Educate clients about what to expect when paying for conveyancing advice.
CQS establishes a Firm’s expertise in Residential Property Law and sets out the standards of competence, risk management and client service levels. It is designed to promote good practice and technical ability alongside sound Firm Management.
CQS sets expectations in the standard and any Firm seeking to become accredited must comply with the requirements of the standard and be prepared for an audit by CQS, which could happen at any time.
